Beaches to Mountains - We begin the return journey

Dropped Mom at the airport and with Shannon, started driving north. We opted for a night of free camping on a beach in Los Barriles. What a sunset and sunrise! It was also Shannon's first night in the roof tent.

The drive to Loreto was a reminder of the sore back I got driving down. I really need to stop a few times and stretch or workout. And that is exactly what we did! I remembered the water hike at Mesquite Canyon and we had enough time to fit in an adventure before the sun went down. Shannon conquered her fears and there was no broken legs!

I've been scouring the desert for a cow skull to strap to the front of the truck. Guess WHAT???? We stumble upon a few dead cows, the first, I grabbed to horns and twisted but it was firmly attached. However, then second let loose with a loud crack and the lower jaw bone went flying. I was left holding the skull. Now, how to get it across the border? Perhaps clean the skin off it first?

What an adventure!
