Biking to SaltSpring Island

Last week was the school closure long weekend and we had 4 days to enjoy a long weekend. The ferry was a 10am sailing so we set off from the parking spot and bushwhacked along the shore for a while out to the ferry terminal. K and M were great on the trails. L opted for the highway.



I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about the 10k hilly ride on the other side of the 2 hour ferry. There is always a hill outside of a ferry terminal and this was the time to adjust packs and get the weary legs to warmup.

Halfway through the ride, off in the distance we see a group of riders approaching! Lo and behold it was our friends riding to meet us! Sweet!



The days were filled with mountain biking, feeding the lambs and stealing eggs from the chickens. K and M were having a great time. There was even an old trailer to use as a clubhouse. This was an alternative to the elaborate treehouse.





We can hardly wait to return! Thanks Jill and Willy!

Pigs have a new home!

So m and his friend d decided the pigs just didn't have enough space to roam around so this is how it ended. $50 And a trip to homedepot has a two level pig condo. They both remarked that this was the best playdate ever!
