Top of Seymour today

360 degree view. Maybe there is a blogger picture editor to stitch together these pics into a chain side-by-side?

No mountain biking today!

For you graham.

Well, really, I wanted to see how terrifying it looked without the added height of a bike. Ya, 6 inches means a ton. M and K ran ahead down the trail until the roller-coaster, they did some leaps and twirls like Mac on a bad day or Kelly on a good day. Then they turned and said "so what is the big deal"?

Family on Seymour Mt. For lessons in Christmas vacation.

Well, at first the day was extremely foggy. M has some new (to him) 130cm boards and was ready to rock down the slopes. K had a great attitude and an excellent pizza wedge. Lara was looking shishi in her ski wear... Jeff, well, he just hoped for no injury.

Ski

K almost going to go down the hill

Skiing At Seymour

M about to go down the hill.

These are some very good skiers. Which one do you think is the best?

New Bike

Ahhh... Birthdays are so much FUN! Growing legs need to stretch and when your knees hit the bar on your old bike from Jonah, it is time to stretch out on a new ride.

Please note: M had to be coerced into posing without a helmet.

Judy's birthday up the Grouse Grind

Judy wanted us to hike up. No way. Too far. Huh? Did someone say there was cake at the top. Let's go! M just under and hour and K just over. Whew!

...and there was still enough energy to fight the bugs and go over to the Grizzly Bear Cage.

...and Jason Garrison (Florida Panthers) was there!

Out in Stevenson

We spent the day with Paul and Q in Steveston biking around and playing and eating ice cream and biking some more and walking on the logs looking for snakes. It was cool.

Whistler Crankworx

What a great Thursday! We drove up to whistler to Mt. bike with dad and watch some crazy guys huck their bikes off jumps.

It was a bit rainy so the epic Lost Lake trail ride was shortened to about an hour but after a warmup hot chocolate and a Subway sub we were ready.

On the way to the hill we saw a bear. M and K attacked!

There was a 1.5 hour rain delay so the start was a bit slow and we had to eat all the pretzels and licorice to comfort ourselves. At least the sun was out!

Once the event started and the music blasted we realized they were not using the entire jump course but only one hill near the top. So, ten thousand of our closest friends ran the kilometer up the hill and watch these crazy guys go at it for an hour. Fun!

Pizza brought an awesome day to the end.

Paddle Boating

One afternoon, we wanted to paddle around.

It was a sunny afternoon and we met Paul and Sue and Q. Paul and Sue rented a 2 seater and Jeff and the kids had the 4 seater limo. It turned out to be big and slow. Boohoo.

Next time, we want kayaks.

Hangin at the park.

It is supposed to rain tomorrow so we dashed out to the park to play soccer and monkey around. Tommorow we are taking down the chimney and adding a skylight. Of course, the skylight will only go to the attic until the rain stops.

Biking to SaltSpring Island

Last week was the school closure long weekend and we had 4 days to enjoy a long weekend. The ferry was a 10am sailing so we set off from the parking spot and bushwhacked along the shore for a while out to the ferry terminal. K and M were great on the trails. L opted for the highway.

I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about the 10k hilly ride on the other side of the 2 hour ferry. There is always a hill outside of a ferry terminal and this was the time to adjust packs and get the weary legs to warmup.

Halfway through the ride, off in the distance we see a group of riders approaching! Lo and behold it was our friends riding to meet us! Sweet!

The days were filled with mountain biking, feeding the lambs and stealing eggs from the chickens. K and M were having a great time. There was even an old trailer to use as a clubhouse. This was an alternative to the elaborate treehouse.

We can hardly wait to return! Thanks Jill and Willy!
