What an awesome day. A little hail and 10cm fresh snow, then the clouds opened up and the sun shone. M is good enough to get down the hill with us now. It won't be long before he is ripping ahead and nailing the jumps.

Hanging around the tree

Well, the spirit overtook us and we pulled out the chainsaw and headed to QueenE park to find a tree. Look at how it turned out!

There are a bunch of presents under the tree and M and K are hoping they have been good so Santa will visit on the night of the 24th.

What a crazy day of learning search and rescue for the upcoming earthquake.

Family Record

WE have what we believe is a new family record. K lost her front top tooth at 4am (lost it on her carpet for a while but eventually recovered it) and the next morning during cartoons, the bottom one came out.

That is 2 teeth, and two stops for the tooth fairy in the space of 12 hours.

Break In

Boo-Hoo. Two weeks ago we had someone crawl in our bedroom window, take jewelery, computers, cameras and an assortment of bags and wallets. They saw our car keys, opened our car, and drove away. We still have no car. Well, not exactly true. We have a rental and will go car shopping next week.

Any suggestions what car we should get?

K wants a convertible and M wants a monster truck.

soccer time.

k had her soccer picture on Sunday last week. We have been very lucky because every Saturday has been a sunny day. Usually, we play in the rain and the MUD. Yucky!

Our first game is in 2 weeks against a team from Douglas Park. I hope we win. Go, Superstars, Go!!!!!!!.

M is also playing, but it is not his first year, it is his 4th year. He has a good team called the Knights. We'll have to get some pictures later since we had our camera stolen.

Lynn canyon hike.

we went to Lynn Canyon for a hike with paul sue and quinn. we found lots of rocks to climb on. paul dropped his camera in the water.
the water was cold and there was lots of water over the rocks. there was lots of stairs to climb. we got lots of exercise!!!!!!!

out over all the people. it was freaky!!!!

A Trip To Granville Island

Earlier this morning we went to Granville Island with GT+Bop
M + K had Lot's of fun!!! They went into the arcade to get tickets for prizes. M got a sticky hand and a clear popper. K got a green frog and yellow teeth. We scared each other in the elevators.

M Broke His Arm

On Wednesday, M broke his arm hiking. There was a good reason he was not in the photos at the top of the hike. He was resting on the trail. As it turns out 2 days later, the x-rays show a break in the humerus (near the elbow). J took him to the E-room at 9:30am and after playing DSi for the majority of 3 hours M left with a shiny new green cast. The cast almost goes all the way up to his armpit.

It was a hard hike. K said "Go granny, we can do it!". M said "Ow! I fell down and broke my arm in half." He was crying and hackin' and actin' like a maniac.

Bop said "too hard, I'm turning back".

The winners were Toosie and K.

Fluffy Plays Piano

This morning we woke up to find Fluffy Peanut had escaped his home and was upstairs playing piano. What the????

At The Airport

M and K hugged a moose at the airport.
We picked Gramma Toosie and Bop up at the airport.
We saw the airplane driving to the place where it was parking.
J saw Bop first then GT. K saw the red suitcase and GT picked it .


Lara did a triathlon in Kelowna and placed 46 overall in all the woman and 11 in her age group!!!

We went for a 4 night sleep over on Hornby Island with our friends J, W, J and T. K woke up early one morning to ride the BIGGEST swing ever. It was 10m tall.

We swam in the Pacific ocean and it was pretty warm. We looked at the stars at night, ate smores and rode bikes. There were no campfires due to the lack of rain and dry ground. It was super hot.

M went skim boarding. He practiced 100 times and got it!

It was raining and my dad was afraid to ride his bike so we jumped in the car and headed over to North Van to go see the trails and find a bear.

I'm! 8! I'm! 8! I'm! 8!

M turned 8! Tuesday we went to Memorial park with 3 of his friends. We had a HUGE water gun fight and soaked J so much he was freezing. The we were going to have a soccer game but a monster dirt pile appeared and took over. We made a luge run for some toys.

Pizza and ice cream cake rounded out the festivities and everyone headed home for showers.

We went to the new POOL!


On july 31st, the new community pool at Hillcrest (near Queen Elizabeth Park) opened. We went to check it out. It was very busy - There were swim lessons, diving boards and a FAST lazy river. K liked the outside pool because there was a shower sprayer and she got her hair wet and wiggled it on M and J.

M liked the lazy river (oh, and K like it too!). We floated down like jellyfish. In two weeks, K and M have swimming lessons there.

It is so close to home, we can ride our bicycles.

We started the weekend at our friend's trailer in Maple Falls, WA. It was pretty small but the bunk beds were cool. It is not like GT's house, it was smaller than Gt's Home

Today we saw our cousins and our grandparents at the Greater Vancouver zoo.

Camping and K Tooth Losing

On Sunday we went camping at Porpoise Bay Provincial Park near Sechelt. M's favorite part was the soccer game. Parents vs. kids. The kids won, of course. The score was 18 for kids and 13 for adults.

We also spent the days at the beach. M helped daveC fly his kite, built sandcastles with the other kids and ate smores until we were sick.


K lost a tooth on Sunday. On our way back from camping, in the ferry terminal, K bit into an Apple and the apple grabbed her tooth. It was bleeding. Yikes! Time to load the ferry. Yikes! Blood, tooth, tears, ferry....but it all turned out OK.

K says " It felt like a vine hanging in my mouth."

A Day At The Skateboard Park

Today we were at the skateboard park. I know, we don't even have any skateboards but we had a ton of fun anyways. We ran around and slid on our bums.

We tried to jump up and out but it was too high. After a while, M got courageous first and took the scooter into the bowl. He did a few tricks and then K decided she should join in, too.



K and M tried to climb the steepest wall in the bowl but, they didn't quite make it.

Fluffy Escapes

Today Fluffy escaped from his cage. He climbed out of his house and ate 3 holl in the couch.

Fluffy fell asleep well we were trying to get him out.

A Day At The Park

Sunday, we were at the park that was designed by Alexa. We had lots of fun. We slid down the slides. We went to the skateboard park. M , K , D and C climbed a steep concrete hill and got a picture of themselves.

At home we have a raspberry patch at the back of the garage. Some of the berries are ready now (and some in September). M picked a bunch and schmushed them up with sugar and water. Result? A tasty raspberry juice. Mmmmmmm.

Slipping and Sliding

Just recently we went to a birthday party. Well, as we were saying, it was Lucas' birthday. He had two slippery slides and we slid on both. One of them had a hole in the hose thing so we used the other one with the hose spraying both.

Yesterday, we went to the Bird Sanctuary for a walk and a jump.

We saw a line of Canada geese on a log, a Sandhill Crane baby and fed chickadees from our hands.
